In this workshop Julian Hammond, a past District Evaluation Contestant and a Toastmaster of over 30 years standing, will share his unique technique of giving negative feedback positively using reverse psychology. Julian promises a highly interactive workshop and by the end you will take away a powerful method which will help you, your Toastmaster colleagues and your clubs to improve your evaluations. Here's Julian to tell you more about his workshop...

Workshop Title: Giving Negative Feedback Positively

A Toastmaster of some 30 years standing, Julian is an ardent believer that the single biggest reason we succeed is due to the unique way in which we give positive feedback to our Toastmaster colleagues. It is the foundation of personal development, the platform on which individuals grow and the way we build to fulfil our potential. Whilst there are many highly competent evaluators out there, all too often we hear feedback that glosses over some of the speaker’s issues and misses the opportunity to provide valuable points for improvement. Sometimes feedback can be a little too critical causing the speaker to experience a loss of confidence. Julian competed last year in the District 71 Evaluation Contest and offers Coaching as part of his professional career, as an award-winning Leadership and Management trainer. He will share the structure he uses to give insightful yet supportive feedback. He will also demonstrate a unique technique of giving negative feedback positively using reverse psychology which you can all apply. This is a highly interactive workshop and by the end you will take away a powerful method which will help you, your Toastmaster colleagues and your clubs to improve your evaluations.
